OSman Mir & Third Culture Collective

Sat 17 May 2025, 7pm

Royal FestivaL Hall, London

Celebrate Gujarat’s folk traditions with Osman Mir, Kavi Pau and Third Culture Collective as we create a Symphony of Gujarat, a performance reimagining Gujarati music with a full western classical orchestra.

This special one-off performance celebrates the vibrant heritage of India’s westernmost state, Gujarat. Explore the rich diversity of musical styles including bhajan (devotional hymns), garba (folk dance), and lok sangeet (folk songs), paired with the grandeur of a western classical orchestra.

Known as the Pride of Gujarat, singer Osman Mir has captivated audiences worldwide with his soulful renditions of Gujarati folk styles as well as his acclaimed Bollywood performances. In this new collaboration with Third Culture Collective, celebrated for their innovative programming of South Asian and western classical genres, Gujarati folk music will be presented on a spectacular scale, never before seen in the UK.

Featuring traditional Gujarati folk instrumentalists alongside a full orchestra, this genre-defying celebration of British Indian culture promises to bridge generations and audiences in a truly unforgettable way.

Presented by Ragatip, a promoter of unrecognised and under-represented talent to be able to thrive as creatives.
