Darshan Do Ghanshyam

‘O Ghanshyam, bless us with your presence. Our eyes are thirsty for the sight of you’.

Originally featuring in the 1957 Indian movie Narsi Bhagat, we’ve reimagined this bhajan (sacred Hindu song) for a fusion jazz ensemble featuring vocals, plucked bass, piano and tabla.

We really wanted to bring out the sitar-like qualities of the double bass - you'll hear lots of slides characteristic of Indian music!

Producer, Piano, Vocals: Kavi Pau
Double Bass: Misha Mullov-Abbado
Tabla: Kuljit Bhamra
Videography & Editing: Richard Summers
Original music: Ravi

Recorded at a collaboration day in October 2020
